Itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Merzouga (Sahara Desert)
We begin our journey early in the morning, departing from Fes and heading south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is in Ifrane, known as the “Moroccan Switzerland” for its Alpine-style architecture and peaceful atmosphere.
We continue toward the majestic Ziz Valley, a vast oasis dotted with palm trees and centuries-old kasbahs. Here, you can enjoy breathtaking views and learn about traditional Berber life.
Our final destination for the day is Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, we take a camel ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes to reach a Berber desert camp. There, we’ll enjoy a traditional dinner around a campfire, listen to local music, and spend a magical night under the star-filled desert sky.
Day 2: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
After an unforgettable sunrise in the desert, we return to the lodge for breakfast and prepare to continue our journey.
We head toward the towering Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon with vertical walls up to 300 meters high. This area offers scenic hiking routes and stunning natural landscapes.
We then travel through the Dades Valley, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs,” featuring unique rock formations such as the famous “monkey fingers.” Here, we’ll enjoy a peaceful night in a comfortable riad, surrounded by tranquil scenery and warm local hospitality.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Fes
On the final leg of our journey, we head to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert” and the heart of Moroccan cinema, home to world-renowned film studios.
We visit the impressive Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fortified adobe village has served as the backdrop for many iconic films and TV series.
Next, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, enjoying spectacular panoramic views and stopping at local cooperatives to learn about argan oil production.
We return to Fes in the afternoon, concluding this rich 3-day adventure that blends culture, history, nature, and the magic of the desert.
