Itinerary
Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Merzouga (Sahara Desert)
The adventure begins early from Fez, crossing the lush Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its European-style architecture and natural landscapes.
We continue toward the impressive Ziz Valley, an oasis filled with palm groves and traditional kasbahs offering a unique and fascinating panorama.
Finally, we arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, we embark on a camel ride to reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where we will spend the night in a traditional camp under a starry sky, enjoying Berber music and local cuisine.
Day 2: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
After witnessing the sunrise over the dunes, we return to the accommodation for breakfast.
The route continues to the impressive Todra Gorges, a natural canyon with vertical walls reaching up to 300 meters high, ideal for hiking and photography.
Then, we visit the Dades Valley, famous for its unique rock formations such as the “Monkey Fingers” and numerous historic kasbahs. We spend the night in a charming riad in the valley.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas
We head to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” visiting the famous film studios and exploring the city.
Next, we tour the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a fortified village that has served as the setting for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
Afterward, we cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters), traversing the High Atlas Mountains, with scenic stops to admire the grandeur of the mountains and visit local argan oil cooperatives.
We spend the night in a traditional riad near Marrakech or in the mountains, depending on your preference.
Day 4: Arrival in Marrakech and Panoramic Visit
Finally, we arrive in Marrakech, the “Red City,” a symbol of vibrant and colorful Morocco.
Depending on the schedule, you can enjoy a panoramic visit of the main points of interest such as Jemaa el-Fna Square, Menara Gardens, Ben Youssef Madrasa, or the traditional souks.
