This itinerary is carefully designed for those who wish to experience the cultural, historical, and natural diversity of this magical country.
Itinerary: 6 Days Tangier Marrakech
Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen
We begin our adventure in Tangier, the northern city that blends African, European, and Arab influences. After a brief panoramic visit to the Medina, Cape Spartel, and the Hercules Caves, we head south towards the Rif Mountains.
We arrive in Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue City” of Morocco. This charming mountain town is known for its narrow streets, houses painted in different shades of blue, and its bohemian atmosphere. Enjoy a free afternoon to stroll through its streets, visit Uta el-Hammam Square, the Kasbah Museum, and taste mint tea on a terrace with views.
Overnight in a traditional riad in Chefchaouen.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
After breakfast, we set off for the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site with impressive mosaics and columns that reveal the glorious past of the region.
We continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. We visit Bab Mansour Gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the old medina.
Finally, we arrive in Fez, the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco. Accommodation in a riad in the heart of the medina.
Day 3: Guided tour of Fez
We dedicate the day to exploring Fez el-Bali, the largest and oldest walled medina in the Islamic world, accompanied by an expert local guide.
Highlights include:
The Al Quaraouiyine University, the oldest in the world
The Chouara Tanneries, where skins are traditionally dyed
The artisan souks, where copper, ceramics, and leatherwork are crafted
The Royal Palace and the Jewish quarter of Mellah
Fez is a city that awakens all the senses with its history, aromas, colors, and sounds.
Dinner and overnight at the riad.
Day 4: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
After breakfast, we head south through the Middle Atlas. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine architecture and impeccable cleanliness.
We continue to the Azrou Cedar Forest, home to the famous Barbary macaques. Then we cross the Ziz Valley, an oasis flanked by palm groves and traditional villages.
In the afternoon we arrive in Merzouga, at the gates of the Sahara Desert. We prepare for a camel excursion at sunset through the Erg Chebbi dunes to our Berber camp.
Traditional dinner under the stars and accommodation in a desert tent.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
We wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes and return by camel to the village. After breakfast, we head to the impressive Todra Gorges, a natural canyon ideal for hiking and photography.
We continue through the Dades Valley, known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. The winding road and rock formations make this stretch one of the most scenic in Morocco.
Overnight in a hotel or riad with valley views.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
The last day of our route takes us along the legendary Route of a Thousand Kasbahs to Ouarzazate, where we visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios.
We continue to Morocco’s architectural gem: the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This earthen fortress has been the setting for numerous films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
Finally, we cross the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass (2,260 m), with panoramic views of the High Atlas landscapes, arriving at the vibrant city of Marrakech.
