Itinerary: 7 Days Marrakech Morocco
Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
The journey begins in Tangier, a port city blending European, Berber, and Arab history. After a brief visit to the historic center, we head to Tetouan, known as “The White Dove,” where you’ll admire its Andalusian architecture.
Next, we continue to Chefchaouen, the magical blue city nestled in the Rif Mountains. Its cobbled streets, blue facades, and peaceful atmosphere captivate every visitor.
Overnight stay in a charming riad in Chefchaouen.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
After breakfast, we set off for the Roman ruins of Volubilis, where spectacular mosaics and columns are still preserved.
Then, we arrive in Meknes, an imperial city famous for its massive walls, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and Bab Mansour Gate—one of Morocco’s most impressive.
In the afternoon, we reach Fez, the spiritual and cultural cradle of the country.
Dinner and overnight in a traditional riad within the medina.
Day 3: Guided Tour of Fez
We dedicate the whole day to discovering the secrets of Fez el-Bali, the oldest medina in the Muslim world, with an official guide.
Highlights include:
Al Qarawiyyin University, the oldest university in the world
Chouara Tanneries, where medieval leather-making techniques are still practiced
Local artisan souks: ceramics, leather goods, brassware
Bou Inania Madrasa and Nejjarine Fountain

Day 4: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
After breakfast, we head south crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in Ifrane, nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and continue to the Cedar Forest in Azrou, home to Barbary macaques.
Later, we cross the vast palm groves of the Ziz Valley before arriving at Merzouga, on the edge of the Sahara Desert.
At sunset, we embark on an unforgettable camel excursion to the camp among the dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Berber dinner and overnight in a traditional tent under the stars.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
We wake up early to admire the sunrise over the dunes, enjoy breakfast at the camp, and set off to the Todra Gorges—a spectacular canyon with cliffs up to 300 meters high.
Afterward, we continue through the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations and traditional kasbahs.
Overnight in a riad or kasbah overlooking the valley.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
We continue the Thousand Kasbahs route to Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Desert.” We visit the famous Atlas Film Studios and the historic Taourirt Kasbah.
Later, we explore the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the setting for movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia.
We cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m), traversing the High Atlas Mountains until reaching Marrakech at sunset.
Overnight in a riad in the medina.
Day 7: Marrakech Tour and End of the Journey
On the final day, we enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech’s most emblematic sites:
Jemaa el-Fna Square, the city’s heart
Koutoubia Mosque, an architectural symbol
Bahia Palace and Saadian Tombs
Souks and markets of the medina
The exotic Majorelle Garden, designed by Jacques Majorelle and restored by Yves Saint Laurent
