Where are the Ouzoud Waterfalls?
The Ouzoud Waterfalls are located in the province of Azilal, about 160 kilometers northeast of Marrakech. With a drop of more than 110 meters, spread over several stepped waterfalls, they are considered the highest and most spectacular in Morocco.
The drive from Marrakech takes approximately 2.5 hours, passing through rural and traditional landscapes that introduce us to the authentic essence of inland Morocco.

Departure from Marrakech
We leave early in the morning from Marrakech and head towards the Atlas Mountains. During the journey, we make several stops to enjoy the scenery, take photographs, and learn about the daily life of the villages we pass through.
Arrival in Ouzoud and walk to the waterfalls
Upon arrival in the village of Ouzoud, we begin a guided hike to the foot of the waterfalls. The route takes us through shaded trails, centuries-old olive trees, and natural terraces that offer spectacular views of the waterfalls.
From above, you can see how the water cascades down, forming rainbows and a cool mist that refreshes the atmosphere. It is common to encounter Barbary macaques, which live freely in the area and curiously approach visitors.
Free time to enjoy the surroundings
- After the hike, you will have free time to:
- Swim in the natural pools, weather permitting
- Relax on a terrace overlooking the waterfalls
- Have a mint tea or try a traditional tagine at one of the local restaurants
- Take a boat ride to the base of the waterfalls to hear the roar of the water up close
Return to Marrakech
In the afternoon, we will make our way back to Marrakech, arriving at sunset after a day full of nature, freshness, and scenic beauty.
