Itinerary for the 1-day excursion to the Ourika Valley

Departure from Marrakech

We leave early in the morning from Marrakech and head south. The journey offers breathtaking views of the High Atlas, with landscapes of plains, mountains, and agricultural terraces. Along the way, we make stops to visit local markets, take photographs, and appreciate the natural environment.

Visit to a traditional Berber house

One of the first experiences of this excursion is a visit to an authentic Berber house, where we can learn about the rural way of life, how traditional mint tea is prepared, and how families live in this mountainous region.

Tour of the valley and its villages

We continue along the valley route, passing through picturesque villages such as Tnine de l’Ourika and Setti Fatma, famous for its waterfalls. Adobe buildings, terraced fields, and green landscapes surround us at all times.

Hike to the Setti Fatma waterfalls

Upon arriving at Setti Fatma, we begin a hike of approximately 1 hour with a local guide, climbing trails that lead us to discover up to seven waterfalls. The ascent offers panoramic views of the valley, rock formations, natural bridges, and crystal-clear pools where many travelers cool off.

Lunch by the river

After all that effort, there’s nothing better than enjoying a traditional Moroccan lunch—tajine, couscous, or kebabs—at a restaurant on the banks of the Ourika River. The sound of the water and the shade of the walnut trees create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation.
