Itinerary
Day 1: Departure from Fez to the Merzouga Desert
The journey begins early as we leave Fez heading south, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains and stopping in the charming town of Ifrane, known for its Alpine atmosphere and unusually orderly urban design for Morocco.
We continue to the impressive Ziz Valley, a vast oasis where you can admire palm groves and traditional kasbahs while enjoying spectacular views.
Finally, we arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, an unforgettable camel ride awaits across the Erg Chebbi dunes, culminating in a night at a traditional Berber camp under the starry sky and immersed in authentic Saharan culture.
Day 2: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
After a magical sunrise over the dunes, we have breakfast and prepare to continue toward the Todra Gorges, an impressive canyon with vertical walls perfect for hiking and photography.
Next, we head to the Dades Valley, famous for its unique rock formations like the “monkey fingers” and its numerous historic kasbahs that add charming character to the region. We spend the night in a traditional riad overlooking the valley, enjoying the tranquility and local hospitality.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah
On day three, we travel to Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Desert” and one of Africa’s main film production centers. We will visit the famous film studios where many international movies have been shot.
Afterward, we head to the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its adobe architecture and its role as the setting of numerous films and series.
We spend the night in nearby accommodations to rest and prepare for the next stage of the journey.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – Marrakech
We cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, which at 2,260 meters offers spectacular panoramas and stops to admire the landscape and visit local cooperatives, especially those producing argan oil.
Arrival in Marrakech gives you the opportunity to start discovering this vibrant city, from the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square to historic gardens and traditional souks.
